September 16, 2024, 8:30 AM CT - 2:30 PM CT | Hosted by: Southwest Valley Schools | Corning Community Center | Corning, IA | Discussion Leader: Professor Eric Pullin

John Fitzgerald Kennedy's brief time as President was not without several international challenges. What exactly was the 'New Frontier'? This seminar will focus on such topics as the administration's thoughts on the Berlin Wall, the problems in Latin America and Cuba, then pivot to the U.S. involvement in South Vietnam and eventually escalation in the Vietnam War. Join us as we unlock the primary documents during this extraordinary period.

Using discussion and primary documents, Professor Pullin will facilitate the conversation instead of lecturing. Registrants are highly encouraged to read all the documents in advance and come ready with questions.

This year, I will begin both my government class and my class on “Law and Modern Society” with George Washington’s Letter to the Hebrew Congregation at Newport." — Sean B.
