Register for "Henry Grady’s New South"

March 24, 2021, 4:55 PM ET - 6:05PM ET | Hosted by: Watson-Brown Foundation

Henry Grady is known as ‘The Spokesman for the New South.” Grady’s vision of a New South included a more industrialized and diversified economy powered by northern investments. Grady insisted that Black and White southerners could live in peace yet maintain white supremacy. What caused this influential writer to champion a modern industrial region without changing traditional the South’s racial hierarchy? Join us at the (virtual) table as we examine and discuss primary source documents illuminating this influential movement in the South during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

All attendees of this free Seminar will be provided with a certificate for continuing education and a digital copy of the agenda and document.
