Register for "The American Founding"

August 18, 2020 | Hosted by: Garden Grove School District Office Annex

Study the ideas that fueled the American Founding, in the Revolution and into the 1780s, along with the systems and structures that were created to try to reach those lofty goals. Consider directly the role and place of slavery, and the enduring question of “how does this fit?” alongside the ideals of the Declaration of Independence. This Seminar lays a solid foundation for any teacher of American History, Civics, or Government.

"It gave me a better understanding of the Founders’ views. They saw that restricting religious liberty is not only wrong; it leads to animosity within society. This year, I will begin both my government class and my class on “Law and Modern Society” with George Washington’s Letter to the Hebrew Congregation at Newport." — Sean B.
