The focus of this seminar is a comparison between Franklin’s Roosevelt’s New Deal and Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society programs. Are the approaches of each president rooted in the progressive movement of the early 20th century? What are the similarities between the New Deal and the Great Society? What are some significant differences?
